This is Pup Pup – our Very Important Patient who was neutered thanks to the Caravita Foundation covering the cost and setting him up at a local clinic in Otero County, Colorado. Pup Pup is a resident at a small homeless encampment in his community with several unsterilized pets who continue to reproduce. So Pup Pup's procedure is a big deal. Not only for him, but because it meant we gained the trust of the community he lived in and now Pup Pup is the first of many we will spay and neuter there, including his mom, who is pregnant with her 5th litter, and all of her previous puppies. The owner, who had no transportation and almost no money, was incredibly grateful for the care. Funding from private donors allowed Caravita to cover the sterilization costs, our clinic partner made it possible to complete the surgeries quickly, a local rescue took in the puppies where they will find forever homes, and we provided education to the encampment about our services. This was how we began breaking the cycle, one pup at a time.
A quote from the rescue who helped Pup Pup's " I wanted to thank [Caravita Foundation] and tell you what a big impact you’re having on this community!"
The Caravita Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and our mission is fully supported by our donors. Every donation is tax-deductible and goes towards our community programs. Monthly contributions are encouraged, so we can plan for the continued support of our programs.
Each $125.00 donation will sterilize, vaccinate, and microchip one animal in need. Furthermore, the impact of your donation lasts for years by preventing 243 unwanted births, allowing us to start reversing the cycle of pet overpopulation.
We encourage you to use the Caravita Impact Calculator to determine the impact your donation can make on pet overpopulation.
